Breaking: Neiman Marcus Group will ditch fur
We are one step closer to a fur-free society now that Neiman Marcus Group, which includes retailers Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Last Call and Horchow, has just announced it will end its use of animal fur in favor of more ethical alternatives. The luxury retailer will end its use of animal fur, and will close all of its fur salons, by early 2023. The new policy is part of a larger strategy by the company to place sustainability and ethics at the heart of its brand.

The fight to save America's lionWe believe that protecting wildlife is a patriotic thing to do, which is why we've sought to engage people in a difficult fight to save America's native lion: the mountain lion. This fight has been going on for decades but is now at an especially crucial juncture.
Change starts at homeThere are plenty of easy ways you and your family can help from home, both by making small lifestyle adjustments and by speaking out for animals. But why not get others involved, too?

We Can't Help Farmed Animals With Just a Few of Us.
Hello Carol,
Congratulations on completing another week of Meating Halfway!
Your inspired initiative to improve your health, save the planet, and stop animal suffering deserves some recognition. So don't be shy, share your progress with your family and friends! Share photos of your drool-worthy plant-based meals on social media with your loved ones. Showcase this crowd-pleasing recipe: roasted cauliflower and lentil rice bowl recipe by lifestyle influencer Michaela Podolsky. While the meal can speak for itself, get your community on board the meat reduction train with some life-changing information — after all, you're pretty much a pro at this point.
Remember, it takes a village! Meat reduction has the potential to put an end to some of the cruelest factory farming practices, such as extreme confinement, the overuse of antibiotics, and brutal mutilations. But this can't happen if just a few of us limit our meat consumption. With your help, consumers' tastes and values can change. It's going to take a community-based approach to drive down the demand for cruelly-produced meat and put an end to factory farming.
Sincerely,
Joe Loria
Meat Reduction Campaign Manager

THIS IS THE FACE OF AN ANIMAL IN DISTRESS
HELP US SAVE THEM FROM CRUELTYDONATE NOWChickens panting with open beaks, obviously in distress. Birds and rabbits shoved in makeshift cages of any kind – a group of chickens was brought in a broken laundry basket with wire on top – and left without water or food all day.
Carol, we just spent an unbearably hot day at a small animal auction in Pennsylvania, and what we documented was devastating.
Sometimes it's hard to keep going, to witness these horrific abuses especially when these disturbing conditions are totally normal. Small animals like chickens, ducks, rabbits, geese, and guinea pigs are exempt from most animal protection laws. These animals are completely forgotten by the world – except by people like you.
You and I know this is bigger than us – this is for the animals, and that's what gives me the strength to go to each auction and continue our necessary work. Will you help fund our undercover investigations with a donation to Animals' Angels today. We must get justice for these suffering animals.
NO ANIMAL DESERVES TO BE TREATED WITH SUCH CRUELTY AND INDIFFERENCE

No matter how many times we go to auctions and slaughterhouses, it's always shocking. Seeing cardboard boxes stuffed with chickens and ducks – with no air holes on a blistering hot day. We know we just have to work harder to expose every last instance of abuse and neglect.
I know you agree. Please, if you can, make a donation today. Let's keep at it. Let's hold animal abusers accountable. Your gift allows us to do undercover missions like this one, so we can report the cruelty, so we can ultimately end the suffering.
We will keep you posted as this investigation develops.
